Clermont County Commissioner
Biography:
I am a 17-year resident of Clermont County and a professional hairdresser with 35 years of experience. For over a decade, I successfully owned and operated two businesses simultaneously, including 10 years as a business owner in Clermont County. My career has been built on a foundation of direct accountability to my clients and my community. I am not a career politician; I am a problem-solver who understands that leadership requires a full-time commitment and a "Main Street" work ethic.
Why are you seeking this office, and what motivates you to serve at this time?
For 35 years, I have viewed the world through the lens of a small business owner and the conversations shared across a stylist’s chair. Today, I am officially closing that chapter as a professional hairdresser to dedicate my life to a new title: a full-time servant for the people of Clermont County.
I am seeking the office of County Commissioner because our community deserves a leader who doesn't just transition between roles, but one who brings decades of frontline economic experience to the table. Having served as a dedicated Republican volunteer for the last 10 years, I have seen the inner workings of our party and our government. Now, with my business successfully retired, I am prepared to offer my full-time energy, my business experience, and my unwavering loyalty to this county.
Operating two businesses simultaneously taught me the reality of "reckless development" versus "sustainable growth." I’ve felt the weight of high property taxes and navigated the infrastructure deficits. My time behind the chair wasn’t just about hair; it was an ongoing masterclass in the needs of our constituents. I have listened to your concerns for 17 years and I realized that the gap between government policy and the people’s needs is widening. I am running to bridge that gap with transparency and the same work ethic that sustained my career for 35 years.
We need a commissioner who understands that small business is the backbone of Clermont County.
What professional or personal experiences best prepare you to understand the needs of small businesses and employers in Clermont County?
The best preparation for understanding small business isn't found in a textbook; it’s found in the 17 year journey of owning and operating two businesses simultaneously while navigating the unique economic landscapes of Clermont and Clinton Counties.
With 35 years as a hairdresser and over a decade as a multi-location business owner, I possess the "real-world" credentials to advocate for Clermont County employers. I am not just a candidate talking about the economy—I am a practitioner who has signed the front of paychecks, managed overhead, and weathered the shifting regulatory tides that affect our local storefronts including covid.
My experience is rooted in the simultaneous management of two distinct enterprises, which required a mastery of logistics, local tax compliance, and workforce retention. I understand that when property taxes rise or infrastructure fails, it isn't just a line item on a budget—it is a direct threat to a family's livelihood. My 10 years of volunteer service within the Republican party further bridge the gap between private sector struggle and public sector solutions. I know exactly where the red tape hinders growth because I have spent 35 years cutting through it to serve my clients and my community.
Our employers need a commissioner who speaks the language of the ledger, not just the language of the legislature.
What are your top three policy priorities if elected, and what impact do you expect those policies to have on our region?
Leadership isn’t about making promises for the next election; it’s about setting priorities that protect the next generation of Clermont County families.
If elected, my experience will be defined by three unwavering mandates: halting reckless development, providing immediate property tax relief, and establishing a functioning, localized mental health support system. By shifting our focus from rapid expansion to sustainable stability, we will ensure that our growth never overrides our infrastructure or our values.
The impact of these policies will be felt in every household. By stopping Reckless Growth, we protect our rural character and prevent the infrastructure deficits that lead to traffic congestion and overwhelmed services. By tackling Property Taxes, we keep seniors in their homes and allow small businesses to reinvest in our local economy rather than just surviving the tax bill. Finally, by prioritizing Mental Health and transparency, we address the root causes of homelessness and addiction, ensuring that county funds are used effectively to save lives and restore public safety. We aren't just building a bigger county; we are building a stronger, more accountable one.
Clermont County deserves a plan that puts residents before developers.
What do you see as the most significant economic challenges facing Clermont County over the next four years, and how should government respond?
Economic growth should be a blessing to a county, not a burden on its taxpayers yet, without inderstsnding of the residents, rapid development is quickly becoming Clermont County’s greatest economic issue.
The most significant challenge we face over the next four years is the "Infrastructure Deficit." We are inviting growth without the roads, sewage, services, schools or judicial capacity to sustain it. My responsibility as Commissioner will be to implement a "Capacity-First" policy, ensuring that infrastructure and public service expansion are fully funded and planned before a single new major development is approved.
This challenge is four-fold. First, Reckless Development places an immediate strain on our judicial services and roads, creating a "catch-up" economy that hurts our quality of life. Second, this unsustainable growth often leads to higher Property Taxes as the county scrambles to fund services for an influx of new residents. Third, we must address the Mental Health crisis and judicial backlog proactively; ignoring these social infrastructures creates long-term costs that taxpayers eventually have to bail out. Finally, none of this can be solved without absolute Transparency. The government must be open about where developer fees are going and how tax dollars are being allocated so that the constituents, not the special interests, are the ones in control of our county’s future.
It is time to put our current residents’ quality of life ahead of a developer’s bottom line.
How will you engage with the business community to ensure that taxes, fees, regulatory structures, and public services support long-term economic growth?
My "office" has been a salon where the real economic heartbeat of Clermont County could be heard every single day. I don't need a focus group to tell me that businesses and homeowners are suffocating under an outdated tax system.
To ensure our taxes and regulatory structures support long-term growth, I am committed to exploring a complete overhaul of our local tax structure. While many talk about "stabilizing" the burden, I want to lead the conversation on finding a solution toward property tax replacement or abolition. I will establish a "Small Business First" task force to identify which fees are redundant and which regulations are simply roadblocks to prosperity.
Our current system is a barrier to the American Dream. By seeking a solution to the property tax crisis, we empower residents to truly own their land and businesses to reinvest their capital into the local workforce. This effort ties directly into our pillar of Transparency, we must be honest about where our revenue comes from and ensure it isn't being wasted on Reckless Development that the taxpayers never asked for. By, addressing Mental Health and the judicial backlog, we reduce the hidden "social taxes" that businesses pay through crime and instability. My 10 years of Republican volunteerism have prepared me to navigate the political landscape, but my 35 years as a hairdresser have prepared me to listen to your frustrations. I will be a Commissioner who works to eliminate the tax burden, not just manage it. Clermont County deserves a plan that prioritizes the taxpayer, not the tax collector.
Public trust and collaboration are essential in governing. How would you work with colleagues — including those with differing viewpoints — to advance meaningful policy solutions?
In my 17 years of serving this community, I’ve learned that leadership is nothing without Integrity and the courage to be Honest with the people you represent, even when the truth is difficult. Public trust is built through Transparency. As a small business owner and a Republican volunteer for 10 years, I have worked with people from every background and across the political aisle. I am a leader who is always willing to come to the table and find solutions, but I will never compromise the values that define my candidacy. I am prepared to work with any colleague to advance meaningful policy, provided our work is rooted in honesty and a shared commitment to the taxpayers of Clermont County.
My platform is built on three urgent needs—ending Reckless Development, finding a solution for Property Taxes, and addressing our Mental Health crisis—all held together by the fourth pillar: Transparency. I have dealt with all kinds of people, from those who agree with me to those on the opposite side, and I have consistently been the one to find the path forward. By maintaining high standards of integrity, we can ensure that development isn't decided in backrooms and that tax solutions are found through open, honest debate. I will bring the same "straight-talk" approach to the Commissioner’s office that I used to build my business and my reputation over the last 17 years in this county. Clermont County deserves a government that operates with the same integrity, honesty and transparency, you expect from your neighbors.
What role should county government play in economic development and business attraction?
County government should never be the "owner" of economic development, it should be the "Guardian" of the environment in which small businesses and families can thrive without being taxed out of their dreams. The role of the County Commissioner is to create stability. We attract businesses by offering a transparent regulatory structure and a commitment to infrastructure that actually supports growth.
My approach to business attraction is simple: we don't need to "buy" businesses with taxpayer-funded backroom deals; we need to build a county so efficient, so safe, and so fiscally sound that Clermont County becomes the natural first choice for any entrepreneur. To achieve this, we must align every development project with our core pillars. First, we must stop Reckless Development that ignores our infrastructure, businesses won't stay if their employees are stuck in traffic or if the power and sewer grids are failing. Second, we must find a permanent solution for Property Taxes. Third, by investing in Mental Health and judicial efficiency, we create a stable, reliable workforce and a safe community for commerce.
Finally, every step of business attraction must be done with total Transparency. When we are Honest about our challenges and our costs, we attract the kind of high-integrity partners who want to grow with Clermont County, not just profit from it. Economic development should serve the citizens, not the other way around.
If voters approve substantial changes to the property tax system, how would you as a County Commissioner plan to maintain essential county services while ensuring long-term fiscal stability?
A vote for substantial property tax reform is a mandate for a more efficient government, not a permission slip to let our County overspend. If the voters approve a change in our property tax system, my plan for fiscal stability is rooted in a "Value-Based Budget" approach. To ensure absolute honesty in this transition, I will launch a dedicated, real-time Transparency Website that displays every monthly expenditure for Clermont County.
If we are spending your hard-earned money, you deserve to see exactly where it goes. As your Commissioner, I will ensure that every tax dollar is treated with Integrity and redirected from wasteful spending toward the services of the County: public safety, schools, the judicial system, and the infrastructure needed to support our families. Maintaining stability during a tax transition requires total Honesty about our spending.
First, we must stop the cycle of Reckless Development that forces the county to overextend its budget on new, unplanned infrastructure.
Second, we will use our new Transparency portal to conduct a top-to-bottom audit of every department, identifying where we can streamline operations without compromising our services. My 17 years as a small business owner taught me how to balance a ledger when margins are tight, I will bring that same fiscal discipline to the county. We will prove that Clermont County can be a low-tax leader and a provider of essential services through smart, accountable management.
Fiscal stability starts with a government that respects the taxpayer's wallet.
How will you balance growth, infrastructure investment, and quality of life in Clermont County?
Quality of life in Clermont County isn’t a luxury, it’s a promise we make to every family that chooses to call this community home. Balancing growth and infrastructure requires a move away from Reckless Development toward a "Managed Success" model. As your Commissioner, I will implement a strict policy where infrastructure investment must match the pace of new development.
To guarantee this, I will use my proposed Transparency website to track every developer fee and infrastructure dollar, ensuring that our roads, utilities, and judicial services are expanded before the stress of new residents is felt by our existing community. Achieving this balance is the only way to protect our residents from the hidden costs of growth.
First, by stopping Reckless Development, we preserve the rural and suburban character that defines our quality of life.
Second, we must find a permanent solution for Property Taxes, so that the "cost of growth" isn't unfairly balanced on the backs of long-term homeowners.
Third, we will prioritize Mental Health and public safety as an essential infrastructure; a county that grows without a plan for its social health is a county in decline. Guided by Integrity and Honesty, I will ensure that every decision made at the county prioritizes the families and hard working residents, who are already here over the interests of those looking to profit from our land. Clermont County deserves a leader who values our history as much as our future.
I want our County to be a place we can call our "Forever Home".
