About Clermont County

Whether you prefer the natural beauty of wide-open spaces or the cultural advantages of a major metropolitan area, you will be at home in Clermont County. The county, which celebrated its bicentennial in 2000, consists of friendly neighborhoods, villages, and towns that are nestled between urban and rural landscapes.

Located in southwestern Ohio, a few miles east of Cincinnati, Clermont County boasts a total land area of 459 square miles, or 293,760 acres. Batavia, the county seat, but not the largest town, is centrally located in the county. Clermont's western border touched Anderson Township, Terrace Park, and Indian Hill, Ohio's wealthiest community. The eastern border is fronted by Brown County, where farms and woodlands flourish. To the north is Warren County, and to the south are the scenic Ohio River and the state of Kentucky.

Clermont consists of 145 municipalities and 14 townships including such large communities as Amelia, Batavia, Bethel, Loveland, Milford, New Richmond and Williamsburg. In many respects, Clermont views its largest town as the city of Cincinnati itself. This metropolis, located only a few miles west of the county across Anderson Township, offers virtually endless cultural and entertainment resources.

It's no wonder that Clermont County continues to attract new businesses and residents. Its close proximity to the amenities of downtown Cincinnati; its affordable housing, compared to city offerings; its available commercial and industrial land; its accessibility to world class health care and superior educational opportunities; and its friendly people make Clermont County a great place to live and do business.
